About the Yellow Line

The Yellow Line runs between Eccles and MediaCityUK and Piccadilly, calling at 16 stops. End to end it takes about 36 minutes.

This is the one line on the network where not every tram goes the whole way. Three patterns run:

  • MediaCityUK to Piccadilly — 45% of journeys
  • Piccadilly to MediaCityUK — 44% of journeys
  • Eccles to Piccadilly — 24% of journeys
  • Piccadilly to Eccles — 24% of journeys
  • MediaCityUK to Eccles — 22% of journeys
  • Eccles to MediaCityUK — 22% of journeys

MediaCityUK sits on a short spur, and more trams turn there than run through to Eccles. If you are heading beyond MediaCityUK, check the destination on the front of the tram.

It shares track or platforms with Blue Line, Green Line, Navy Line, Pink Line, Purple Line and Red Line at 6 of its stops, so a lot of journeys that look like a change are really just a different tram from the same platform.

A +1 means the tram leaves after midnight — it still belongs to the previous day’s service. The full timetable has every departure, not just the first and the last.
